How do I download an encrypted file from Dropbox web?

Dropbox altered how web-based file browsing works in version 3.4.4 of its app. The goal behind Dropbox's update is to save space, so you don't need to re-download the file every time you access the file from Dropbox web.

But if the file you're try to download from Dropbox web is in the Sookasa folder, however, the "Open" button does not currently work. We're coming up with a solution that fixes this issue in future releases on Mac and Win.

In the meantime, please use the following workaround to download an encrypted file:

     1. Hover your mouse over the file and click "Share"

     2. Copy the highlighted URL

     3. Open a new browser and paste the link in a new browser
     4. Replace "dl=0" with "dl=1" at the end of the link and hit Enter

The encrypted file will be downloaded to your computer, and the Sookasa app on your computer will decrypt the file for you.

Per your statement, "We're coming up with a solution that fixes this issue in future releases on Mac and Win." Any ETA? This article was posted 5 months ago.
