I can't open files that I found through Windows Explorer's search function. What can I do?

Here is a quick workaround to make search work:

  1. Right-click the Sookasa icon in the tray. (It's usually in the bottom-right corner of the screen, by the clock.)
  2. Select "Preferences..." and uncheck "Hide Sookasa drive."
  3. A new drive, typically Sookasa(E:) or Sookasa(F:), will appear. The drive will have all the contents of your Sookasa folder in Dropbox.

You can now use the standard search feature in your Windows Explorer to find files on the drive.

We're working on a fix that won't require this workaround, and we'll keep you posted on its progress.

Has this been fixed? I don't know if the issue is the same, but I - a new Sookasa user - can't access Microsoft Office files in my Sookasa folder as I get an error message that the files cannot be found. I can load them if I use the Sookasa drive as outlined above or if I drag the file first to an unencrypted directory.

    Hi Bruce,

Are you still having trouble getting to your files? This workaround is only for users whose Sookasa is installed on the non-default drive. You might also run into that error message when Dropbox is moving your files to their new location. Can you let us know at support@sookasa.com if you're still encountering this issue? Thank you!
